Christ Episcopal Church Celebrating Our 175th Year!
    Christ Episcopal Church

Hello!

Altar and Sanctuary WindowThank you for visiting our website. The pages of this website are intended to give you a taste of life at Christ Church as we seek and serve Christ in the city of Springfield, Ohio.

The members of Christ Church come from many denominations, backgrounds and lifestyles, yet all have found it a place to call home. We hope you too will find it to be a loving community.

I was asked for a word or phrase that describes Christ Church. There are so many, it was hard to choose just one. “Strong outreach”, “wonderful music” and “active youth” all came to mind, but the one I chose was “lay leadership”. The ministries of Christ Church are as rich and varied as the members themselves, ranging from housing the homeless and feeding the hungry, tutoring young people, inviting the community to glorious concerts, nourishing souls with rich worship and educational opportunities.

When I arrived here I was amazed at all that is accomplished here. Now, I'm still amazed, humbled and deeply grateful. Christ Church is a place that takes the ministry of all baptized persons seriously, and by doing so, we are able to do incredible things to serve God in this place.

While our website will give you a glimpse of life at Christ Church, we invite you to join us for Sunday worship to experience our life together first hand, and to become involved in any of our ministries to which you feel called. You are invited to become a part of this continuing story we call the Episcopal Church. If I can answer any questions or provide further information about Christ Church, please send me an email.

Please be sure to take advantage of all this site has to offer and create an account.

Please contact the  if you have any questions.

Faithfully.

Charlotte

Flu Precautions

What Are We Doing About The Flu At Christ Church?

Use common sense—if you are sick, please stay home.

If you are concerned about drinking from the common cup, please know that the Church has always taught that communion in one kind (either the bread of the wine) is a full communion. So, receiving only the bread is perfectly acceptable.

If you intinct (dipping the wafer into the wine) please hold the wafer so that your fingers do not touch the wine. Please teach your children to do likewise. Lots of fingers in the cup mean lots of germs in the cup.

If you have a compromised immune system and need to stay out of crowds, consider coming to the 8 o’clock service where there are fewer people. If you have a compromised immune system and are otherwise healthy, but avoiding crowds, please let the church office know if you would like communion brought to you at home.

Passing the peace: While we are accustomed to a handshake at the peace, or even a hug, a spoken “peace” is also acceptable.

We will follow any guidelines put out by the Health Department or the Diocese. Should there be any need to alter our worship schedule (due to weather or the flu) we will do our best to get the word out via email, the website, and Channel 7 News.
